Wen Tan

Wen Tan has 30 years’ experience across the financial industry, 20 of which have been in investment management, focusing primarily on private equity and venture capital.
 
Wen has broad global experience in the PE/VC space: in addition to heading up Asia Pacific PE/VC at various organisations, he has also sat on worldwide investment committees at global asset managers, and managed global private equity programmes on behalf of Asia Pacific LPs.
 
In terms of family office experience, Wen has worked for or advised multiple Asia Pacific, European and North American family offices during the course of his career.  
 
Wen has unique insights into the investment management industry, having viewed the sector from multiple perspectives: as a financial sector chartered accountant with KPMG in London, as a cross-border M&A banker with Lazard focusing on financial institutions, from an LP perspective on behalf of various types of institutions (family offices, boutique private equity firms and global investment management firms), and from an operational perspective dealing with post-M&A integration through multiple acquisitions and mergers.
 
Wen is a Malaysian national, a graduate of the University of Cambridge, and a member of the ICAEW and HKICPA.
