He started his first business in Germany at age of 19 and has since then taken several tech companies international and helped establish one of the largest and profitable tech ecosystems in Asia, generating multi-billion USD in revenue. Funds he managed were ranked as one of the Top 10 Global Performing Funds twice in a row by Preqin, specifically ranking #8 globally and #1 among Southeast Asia Funds.
In 2022, he founded Rigel Capital, an Investment and ecosystem builder for hyper-growth sectors or companies, focusing mainly on the emerging Southeast Asian, Middle East and Indian economies. Rigel builds dominant cash-generating companies that promote positive impacts for their employees, customers, investors, and citizens across Asia. Rigel partners help create over 8 unicorns across Southeast Asia and India.
Prior to Rigel Capital, he founded Kejora Capital and grew the company to USD 700 million in AUM, creating 4 unicorns and invested in over 35 companies.
Sebastian’s investments have created over 150,000 jobs within 8 years. He co-founded or invested in companies such as Volta Electric Vehicle, Metalbook, Brandami, Amilo, SiCepat Express, DMMX (ticker: DMMX), MCASH (ticker: MCAS), G2Academy, Caxe, Qareer Group, Finfleet, Finaccel Kredivo, Smartstudy (Pinkfong), Investree, and Snapask.
Additionally, he co-founded the FinTech Association and served as the former secretary general of the Venture Capital Association in Indonesia (Amvesindo). Sebastian started his career at Deutsche Bank and Deutsche Boerse (German stock exchange) and studied at Johann Wolfgang University in Frankfurt, Germany.
