Prashanth began investing in Indian technology start-ups in 2004, well before they attracted global attention. He started his investing career as a co-founder of Erasmic, one of India’s first early-stage funds. Before that, he founded two enterprises in the Internet and multimedia publishing sectors.
As part of Accel’s India team, Prashanth focuses on DeepTech, Advanced Manufacturing, Consumer Brands, and B2B Global Value Chains.
Accel has played a foundational role in shaping India’s most successful and category-defining startups such as Flipkart, Ola, Swiggy, Freshworks, BookMyShow, Cult.fit, Bluestone, Infra.Market, Zetwerk, and Urban Company, among others.
Prashanth has been honored with India’s fourth-highest civilian award, a recognition of the critical role that startups and the technology sector have played in nation-building.
He is based in Bangalore and holds a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Delaware and an undergraduate degree in computer science.
