Pandu Sjahrir is one of Southeast Asia’s leading investors in the seed and early growth stages. He is a Managing Partner of Indies Capital, an alternative asset manager in South East Asia, with a focus on Indonesia. The firm has invested over $700m in the past 7 years, and currently manages over $600m in total assets, commitments and co-investments, on behalf of institutional investors and private clients. Indies Capital Partners manages Indies Special Opportunities, the leading mezzanine and structured equity provider in the region, Indies Pelago Investments, the leading secondary tech fund in Southeast Asia, and has a strategic alliance with AC Ventures, an ASEAN focused seed and early stage fund (where Pandu is also the founder and the General Partner representative of Indies Capital). Indies Capital and AC Ventures have invested in over 100 companies. These companies have generated over US$ 40 billion in shareholder’s value, 100,000 new employment opportunities and more than 200 new entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia.Pandu serves as the Chairman of Indonesia for SEA, a leading Southeast Asian tech company, the Board Member of Gojek, one of Indonesia’s first unicorn technology companies, and the Director of Toba Bara, a leading publicly listed energy enterprise in Indonesia. Pandu further serves in multiple organizations to promote entrepreneurship and education in Southeast Asia. He is the Head of Energy in Indonesia’s Chamber of Commerce, a Board Member of Endeavor, a global non-profit organization for entrepreneurs, and is the Chairman for Stanford University’s Alumni Association in Indonesia and the Phillips Academy Alumni Association. In 2014 he was selected as Asia’s 21 Young Leaders by Asia Society, an award presented to leaders under 40 years old who have made a significant difference in their field.Pandu Patria Sjahrir received his Master of Business Administration from Stanford University and his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Chicago.
