Li Hua Tan began her career as a Financial Analyst in the Consumer and Healthcare team at Citigroup in New York City and Los Angeles. Two years later, she moved to Malaysia joining Asia Green Group, where she managed a real estate corporation with a gross development value of US $450M. Her family business also includes sustainable forestry, manufacturing, and trading business. Li is assigned to manage her family office assets, which included a diversified public equity portfolio as well as higher octane private investments in Alternative Asset Investments across America, Europe, and Pan-Asia.
Li brings over 20 years of investing experience to establish Audacy in 2017 bringing high impact, highly sustainable investments across multiple cutting-edge sectors to like-minded investors. As a general partner of the firm, her vision was to build a talented team with deep vertical expertise in Industrial Decarbonization, Energy Efficiency, Sustainable Fuel Cells, and in order to partner with top-tier entrepreneurs in transforming their respective industries in APAC region. Always the trailblazer and uncontent to rest on laurels, Li co-founded the Platinum Whisky Investment Fund in 2014. At the time, it was the world’s first private equity fund investing in vintage and rare single malt whiskies. The Fund raised US$12 million and exited at over US$26 million in 7 years, delivering a gross 17% IRR to investors. In 2019, the team continued its whisky ventures by acquiring Glenor Cask Company, which held a portfolio of over 1,000 whisky casks in Scotland. In 2021, she acquired significant stakes in the companies Whisky Hammer and Still Spirit in order to gain footholds in the whisky online auction and e-commerce space.
Originally from Malaysia, Li graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Finance and Business Administration. She is passionate about empowering other women in family business and entrepreneurship, enjoys Argentinian Tango and exploring other cultures through travel and reading.
