Helen Wong has been leaving her mark on the venture capital industry since 2000. Her achievements have not gone unnoticed, with Forbes recognizing her among China’s Top 25 Female VCs and a standout within their Top 100 Investors. With a career spanning two decades, Helen brings expertise and an extraordinary knack for identifying robust teams and high-potential sectors across China and emerging markets. Her prior experience includes working with internationally acclaimed firms like GGV Capital and Qiming Ventures. 

Her professional journey began in Silicon Valley before she transitioned to China, and most recently, broadened her influence to Southeast Asia. Helen has effectively steered investments in Indonesian tech unicorn Akulaku, while leading investments in renowned Chinese internet companies, such as Tudou/Youku (acquired by Alibaba), Mobike (acquired by Meituan), and QuantaSing (Ticker: QSG). Other exits include Lagou (acquired by 51jobs) and LuoJiSiwei (secondary sale). She has invested in 4 unicorns to date. 

Her seasoned perspective encompasses multiple investment cycles and companies’ growth trajectories, weathering both highs and lows. During challenging periods, her counsel in strategy, fundraising, and HR matters has been invaluable. Additionally, her experience extends to guiding companies through IPOs and M&A activities, as her track record includes 7 IPOs and 3 M&As. 

Helen holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the prestigious University of Oxford, an MBA from INSEAD, and also shares the distinguished title of a Kauffman Fellow. She is also the co-chair of the North Asia Sub Committee of the Singapore Venture Capital Association. Her background truly reflects her commitment to nurturing innovation and fostering growth within the venture capital landscape.
