Eka Himawan

Co-Founder and Managing Director
Xurya

Eka Himawan co-founded Xurya in 2018, an Indonesia-based renewable energy startup that develops rooftop solar panels for businesses and industries. In July, Xurya raised $55 million from investors including the Norwegian Climate Investment Fund, Swedfund, Clime Capital, British International Investment (BII), and AC Ventures.

The funds will help Xurya expand and eliminate 370,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually. Xurya has over 170 solar projects across Indonesia, creating more than 1,600 jobs and reducing carbon emissions by 152,000 tonnes per year.

Before Xurya, Himawan co-founded Bilna in 2012, an e-commerce platform focused on the mom and baby segment, which later merged with Moxy to become Orami. He holds a BSEE in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. Before tapping into entrepreneurship, Himawan previously worked in investment firms such as Barclays Capital and Independence Capital Asset Partners.
