Dr. Varma is the co-founder and managing partner of Quadria Capital, the largest healthcare focused private equity firm with almost 3bn USD in AUM.Amit is a trained Critical care physician with over 30 years of experience in the United States and Asia. His expertise allows him to offer insightful knowledge relating to strategic and operational leadership processes and grow private health businesses in emerging markets.He has served on the founding teams and boards of large Asian healthcare companies in delivery, life sciences, pharma, medical tech, and consumer healthcare such as Narayan Hrudayalaya, Fortis Healthcare, HCG, Parkway Healthcare and various others.He co-sponsored a dedicated venture healthcare firm ‘HealthQuad’ with 300mn USD AUM to work with startups and early-stage companies in India focused on health and tech.He maintains his passion as critical care physician by actively taking part in academic and research endeavors and is founder and mentor of one of Asia’s largest TeleICU network of over 500 ICU beds across India, Nepal and Bangladesh.Amit is a visiting faculty at National University of Singapore Business School, Singapore University of Technology and Design, and University of Pittsburgh.To promote the business of local and global sustainable healthcare, he has been a member of the National Skill Council in India, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, Member of the International Council at the National University of Singapore (NUS) – School of Medicine and the Board of Orbis international (an international non-profit non – governmental organization dedicated to saving sight worldwide).He is also actively involved through self-initiated non-profit organization, Vimakr with the philosophy that healthcare is not a privilege, but a fundamental right by promoting women health and innovative solutions for rural healthcare in India.
