Ankur is the Group President of JULO, where he is responsible for corporate development
activities, including strategic partnerships & investments, finance & accounting, investor
relations and group strategy. Ankur has over 20 years of experience in finance and in building new businesses across Asia, North America, and Europe. He joined Grab at an early stage in 2016 and founded multiple Fintech businesses at Grab, including its lending and insure-tech businesses, and grew them to over 1B in asset size. He also led the launch of Grab’s car leasing business and raised $900m of structured debt for it. Ankur spent nearly 7 years at Grab, during which time he served as CEO of its Lending JV, Board member of its Insurance JV, and Director of multiple fintech subsidiaries across SG, PH and VN.
Ankur started his career at the IMF in Washington DC in 2001 and moved to Asia in 2008 with Standard Chartered Bank, where he worked in Structured Finance and Structured Product Sales. In 2012, he launched his startup, which was based in Singapore and later expanded to Indonesia.
He is an angel investor and invests widely in people who are solving problems in the food and fintech space. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Wittenberg University (USA), a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University (USA), and a Master’s degree in Finance from London Business School (UK).
