Taufan is the Founder and CEO of Amartha, Indonesia’s pioneer and largest microfinancing lending platform for women-led SMEs with the mission to drive shared-prosperity by building digital financial infrastructure for the grassroots economy.
Amartha founded in 2010 and the business transformation as tech-led microfinance in 2015 marks one of Indonesia’s first and most sustained initiatives in digitizing the country’s unbanked segments. He grew the company from inception to nearly 10,000 employees serving over 2 million women-led SMEs in over 60,000 villages across Indonesia.
Taufan was Executive Advisor to the President of Indonesia. He was also a former Consultant at IBM. His leadership and vision have earned him numerous awards including: Young Changemaker (2010), Ashoka; Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist (2018), EY Indonesia; Growth Stage Impact Venture SEA Winner (2019), UNDP, Product Innovation of the Year (2022), IFC SME Finance Forum.
