Andi Haswidi

Based in Jakarta, Andi Haswidi is an accomplished researcher, journalist and author. Prior to his current role with DEALSTREETASIA, he was the head of Asean research for FT Confidential, a research unit of the Financial Times. He started his career as a journalist in 2005 when he joined Indonesia’s leading English newspaper, The Jakarta Post, where he later became a business editor. He also had a brief stint as a business editor for Tempo weekly magazine before switching to the field of research for the FT in 2013. Andi is a recipient of the British Chevening Scholarship, with a master’s degree in public policy from University of Bristol. His first book, KOPI: Indonesian Coffee Craft & Culture, was published in 2018 by Afterhours Books, with a foreword by President Joko Widodo.
