Alexandre Schmitz is the Chief Executive Officer and a Representative Director of A2Z Private Capital. He has established the Firm’s presence in Asia Pacific, in the Middle East and in Europe. He is responsible for distribution and GP client origination.

Alexandre founded the Firm as “Capstone Partners Asia Pte Ltd” in Singapore in September 2012. Until March 2023, he was heading the Asian Pacific operations of Capstone Partners as a Managing Partner.

Prior to Capstone Partners, Alexandre worked for over 15 years within the Cobepa Group, first, as an Investment Director at PAI Partners, then, a Member of the Executive Committee at Cobepa, and CEO of BeCapital. He was in charge of the sourcing and the execution of growth buyouts and cleantech investments in Europe. He served as an active non-executive board member of nine industrial companies within a wide range of industries, business maturity profiles, corporate contexts and countries.

Earlier in his career, he was a professor at the National Economics University of Hanoi, the Open University in Ho Chi Minh City and was a lecturer at the Solvay Business School.

Alexandre began his career as a Financial Analyst at Bank Degroof, Belgium’s premier independent private and investment bank.

Alexandre graduated magna cum laude from Université Catholique de Louvain with a Master Science in Economics and is also a Certified European Financial Analyst.
