Adrian Hia is a Partner at Kairous Capital, a cross-border private equity and venture capital firm bridging Southeast Asia with North Asia, particularly China and Korea. Kairous manages close to USD 250 million AUM across growth equity and venture funds, with offices in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and China. Adrian joined Kairous in 2015 and has worked closely with the founding partners to grow the firm from one office to six offices across five countries, establishing Kairous as a regional platform for cross-border investing. He brings over a decade of investment experience across technology, industrials, and mid-market SMEs. At Kairous, he leads cross-border transactions and value-creation initiatives, having backed more than 20 companies across sectors such as deep tech, fintech, digital healthcare, energy, and consumer products. His notable achievements includes some of the larger tech exits (above USD 100million) in Southeast Asia, such as OMS Energy Technologies on Nasdaq and Intrepid Asia’s sale to Ascential UK. Beyond deal-making, Adrian is active in shaping Malaysia’s venture and private equity ecosystem. He serves on committees at the Malaysian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (MVCA), co-led the development of the “Practical Guide on Private Equity & Venture Capital in Malaysia” and contributes to national initiatives that strengthen governance, due diligence practices, and access to growth capital for startups and SMEs. He also frequently speaks at regional forums on themes of capital efficiency, governance discipline, and cross-border growth strategies.
