Aaron is co-founder and CEO of Carro. Former SCS IT Youth of the year, Aaron represented Singapore and won the only Worldskills bronze medal for web programming. After Worldskills, Aaron took the National Infocomm Scholarship and subsequently graduated summa cum laude with a double degree from Singapore Management University School of Information Systems and Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science.
Aaron then joined Singtel Innov8 and started Blk71 in 2011 – Singapore’s largest startup ecosystem. While in Innov8, Aaron invested in over 50 companies globally and was based in the fund’s Singapore and San Francisco offices.
In 2016 upon completion of his bond, Aaron started Carro – SEA’s fastest growing and only profitable mobility unicorn. The company raised over US$600M to date and counts Softbank Vision Fund, Temasek and Jardines amongst its investors. To keep close to his roots, Aaron still actively codes and was most recently responsible for building out the system for Carro’s insurance practice.
Aaron sits on the investment committee of several funds to invest in the next generation of tech startups in the region. Outside of building companies, Aaron is an active community leader. He is a patron of the Toa Payoh East CCMC and currently serves on the Boards and IT committee of several non-profits including the National Library Board, Singapore University of Social Sciences and KMS Monastery.
