Charles is a Senior Advisor in TPG’s Asia Operations Group, based in Singapore. In his role, he focuses on enhancing Digital Operations across TPG’s portfolio companies in the region and supports investment teams’ due diligence through a digital, technology and operational lens. Charles has more than 30 years of international experience across consulting, entrepreneurship, financial services and digital transformation.

He began his career at Marakon Associates and later founded two technology businesses in multiplayer gaming and mobile payments and loyalty. Charles had also previously spent five years at American Express in senior international strategy and customer loyalty roles before joining HSBC, where he held global and regional leadership positions in digital transformation, business model innovation and business architecture. As Global Head of Mobile, he built and led international teams and launched HSBC’s mobile banking platforms across more than 20 countries. His experience encompasses digital strategy, modern software development, agile operating models, mobile technology, banking and payments. Charles earned his first degree in Engineering from Cambridge, and later completed a second degree in Computer Science, specialising in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, from the University of London.
