Mr. Tabata joined Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank in 2004 and was responsible for global credit portfolio management and business promotion of international branches. After that, he moved to global credit supervision department in charge of IG bond/ Securitized product(CLO, CARDS, ABS, etc) invested by New York branch.

He joined Private Equity Team in 2008, and spent 5 years for PE / Infrastructure fund investment on behalf of SMTB and Japanese institutional investors. He was transferred to Sumitomo Mitsui Trust (Hong Kong) and led the investment team as Head of PE/Infrastructure in Hong Kong. In 2019, he returned to Japan to be Co-Head of PE team leading PE gatekeeper service in Tokyo. In 2022, he was transferred to Hong Kong again to lead PE/Infracturcture business globally (North America, Europe, Asia), as Head of PE/Infrastructure. Mr. Tabata graduated Waseda University in Japan with B.A. of Political Science in 1999.
