Rachmat Harsono is a Group President Director & Chief Executive Officer with more than 22 years of leadership experience in Indonesia’s industrial gases, energy, and healthcare sectors. He leads Samator Group, Indonesia’s largest industrial gases group, overseeing multi-entity operations in a highly regulated, capital-intensive industry with nationwide reach.
Recognized for his crisis leadership, strategic transformation, and stakeholder influence, Rachmat successfully guided the Group through the COVID-19 pandemic, playing a critical national role in resolving Indonesia’s medical oxygen crisis. Under his leadership, Samator strengthened its financial resilience, expanded into energy transition initiatives (including hydrogen), attracted world-class global investors, and achieved multiple national and international awards for leadership, workplace excellence, and governance.
Beyond corporate leadership, Rachmat is an influential industry figure, serving as Chairman of the Indonesian Industrial Gases Association (AGII), Vice Chairman of KADIN (Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry), and a Global Board Member of the International Oxygen Manufacturers Association (IOMA). He is also the Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic in Surabaya, actively bridging Indonesia with international partners in trade, industry, and diplomacy.
