Hywel Phillip is a Partner and the General Counsel at Synergy Capital, with over 28
years of experience in corporate law and transactions. He leads all legal matters related
to corporate transactions, governance, and regulatory issues. Since 2010, Hywel has
served as General Counsel for various family offices, investment holding companies,
and a leading EPC group. He was previously an equity partner in the corporate group of
the international law firm Reed Smith. Hywel is recognized as an expert in cross-border
mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, transaction structuring and
financing, litigation, and international law.
Hywel holds a Bachelor of Laws degree with a major in English and French Law. He
studied at the University of Kent, the University of Grenoble, and Guildford Law School.
Hywel is a keen sportsman and is fluent in both English and French. Hywel is regularly
invited to share insights as a panelist at international conferences.
