Padmanabh Sinha brings over 25 years of private equity experience and tech entrepreneurship experience with investment experience and a track record spanning industrials, technology, consumer, healthcare, financial services, and infrastructure.
He previously served as Executive Director and CIO – Private Equity at the National Investment & Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) from 2021 to 2025. At NIIF, he was a member of all direct investing committees and chaired the private equity investment committee.
Before NIIF, he was Managing Partner and co-founder of the Tata Opportunities Fund, Tata Group’s flagship private equity platform. There, he led the fundraising of the then-largest India-focused private equity fund (~$600M in 2013), attracting marquee global investors.
Earlier, as Managing Director – India at Temasek, he co-founded and scaled the firm’s India office starting in 2004 and led major international initiatives, including Temasek’s global entry into the insurance sector.
Prior to his investing career, he was a digital pioneer with eGurucool.com, one of India’s earliest ed-tech startups (later acquired by NIIT), and began his journey at the JP Morgan–ICICI investment banking joint venture.
Paddy served as Chairman of the Indian Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (IVCA) from 2018 to 2020.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (Hons.) from BITS Pilani, an MBA from IIM Calcutta, and has completed an Executive Program in Private Equity at Harvard Business School.
