Krishna Kumar (KK) has close to three decades of experience in the Indian financial services industry with investment expertise across sectors through Alternative Investment Funds. He joined NIIF in April 2020 and is currently responsible for managing the India-Japan Fund.
Prior to joining NIIF, he was the Chief Executive Officer of IL&FS Investment Managers Limited and has spent over 24 years with the business. During his stint, he was responsible for all aspects of the Alternative Investments business of IL&FS including opportunity mapping, conceptualizing fund strategies, fundraising, and investment management. During this period, Krishna Kumar also served as the Co-CEO of the Standard Chartered IL&FS Asia Infrastructure Growth Fund, a joint venture with Standard Chartered Bank, with assets under management of USD 0.7 Bn, having invested across infrastructure sectors in India, China, and Southeast Asia.
