Climate change is one of the biggest threats facing humanity today. Climate change is seen to be disproportionately affecting low-income and vulnerable communities like women and children. That has led to an increased awareness of the need for greater financial inclusion, gender equality, and poverty reduction in poverty to achieve a sustainable future. Over the past years, several impact funds have emerged to support companies in building solutions to address climate change-related problems. Gender lens investing, or investments focusing on women-owned businesses, including small and medium enterprises that empower and employ women, is equally important to protect women from the impact of climate change. This panel will explore the various nuances of gender and climate-based investing and the way forward.
