Khan is the Managing Director at Seraya Partners, covering for the firm’s renewable investments as well as ESG and marketing initiatives.
He was most recently Director at SP International, the overseas investment arm of SP Group, Singapore’s national grid operator. From 2020 to 2021, he led renewable investments in the Asia-Pacific market, notably in China, Vietnam and Indonesia.
Prior to SP Group, Khan was a founding team member of Clean Focus, a USA solar developer with more than 350 MW under ownership. From 2010 to 2020, Khan held various leadership roles in M&A, corporate development and structured finance. His last-held position was the global VP of Project Acquisitions, and concurrently the China VP of Asset Management. Khan closed in excess of USD 430M in project financings and USD 90M in acquisitions. He was also a key architect of Clean Focus’ expansion into the China market and of its formation of the first US-China solar asset holding company.
Khan began his career advising governments and state-owned companies on technology strategy and held various positions at Accenture and the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore. He earned his MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science degree (Computer Science) and a Bachelor of Arts degree (Economics) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
