Louis Nguyen is the Chairman and CEO of Saigon Asset Management (SAM), a private equity firm based in Saigon, Vietnam. SAM focuses on ICT, consumables, education, and healthcare. The firm manages Vietnam Equity Holding (VEH) and Vietnam Property Holding (VPH), two multi-asset class funds that have invested in over 65 companies across various industries. These funds consistently outperform both peer funds and market indexes. SAM also provides M&A advisory services to some of Vietnam’s largest corporations, including Viettel, PetroVietnam, and Vingroup. Previously, Louis was the General Partner at DFJ VinaCapital (DFJV) and IDG Ventures Vietnam (IDGVV), where he participated in establishing these pioneering venture capital funds in Vietnam. Before his roles in Vietnam, Louis served as Vice President at Intelligent Capital, a technology M&A firm based in San Francisco, California. Prior to that, he was a Director at Osprey Ventures in Menlo Park, California, supporting investments in 12 technology, media, and telecom companies. Louis has held senior financial roles at Apple and KPMG in Silicon Valley. Louis holds a B.S. in Accounting from San Jose State University in San Jose, California, and is fluent in both English and Vietnamese.
